Tuesday Bluesday

This week it is back to the the golden age of the blues, the 1920’s and a song called “Sweet Potato Blues.” Lonnie Johnson was one of the first stars of recorded guitar based blues.  His work even caught the attention of the great Louis Armstrong, who used him on one of my all time favorite “Hot Fives” tracks, “Hotter Than That.”  I think I’ll play ’em both.
