Tuesday Bluesday

Tonight we have a group that is sadly overlooked in the annals of blues/rock history, Humble Pie.  The group was something of a supergroup in England at the time of its formation (1969), containing the front men from two prominent British pop groups (Steve Marriott from The Small Faces and Peter Frampton from The Herd, both teen idols), and the bass player from a third major group (Greg Ridley from Spooky Tooth).  But the sound made by this new group would be harder and bluesier than anything those groups ever did.  From 1969 (the video seems to have the wrong date -Marriott was still with The Small Faces in 1968) it’s “Natural Born Boogie.”
