Tuesday Bluesday

For all of the attention Led Zeppelin received and still receives, the Jeff Beck Group should have received more. Sure, they have critical praise for their 1968 debut LP Truth, but they had nowhere near the career success that Led Zeppelin had.  Listening to this week’s Tuesday Bluesday, a song from their 1969 album Beck-Ola you can really hear a lot of the sound that influenced Led Zeppelin II, which was released later that year.  Only better.  So enjoy listening to a pre-Faces Rod Stewart deliver the ultimate blues lyric  “I took a spanish haberdashery – restored with 15th century tapestry” and make it work.
