As Americans sit by waiting for our elected leaders to hammer out a debt ceiling agreement, I thought it might be nice to take our minds off the situation for a little while. And what better diversion could we have than music?
Back in October of last year, Adele stopped by The Current studios in St. Paul for a chat and perform a few songs off of what was at that time her forthcoming album 21. Nine months later, the album is an overwhelming success and Adele is ruling the charts. It’s interesting to hear her discuss the new album at this point, where she obviously has no idea just how successful she and her album will be.
In addition to discussing the album, Adele performs three songs, including “Rolling In the Deep.” This is an incredible acoustic version with simple guitar and piano and no backing vocals. As if the song’s album cut wasn’t powerful enough – this rendition of “Rolling In the Deep” causes me to break out in goosebumps. Just stunning.
