50 Quagmires

Would you believe me if I said the culprit in the Wisconsin debacle was the drug war? Of course not. You’d expect me to back an assertion like that with some facts. Well then, consider this:

From 1987 to 1998 state spending on corrections increased by 30% while spending on higher education decreased by 18.2%.

State prison budgets are growing twice as fast as spending on public colleges and universities.

If law enforcement protested defunding the drug war, would the collegiate educators stand in solidarity with them?
