Congratulations Bert!

Anyone who has spent any amount of time in Minnesota knows that Bert Blyleven is an institution there.  As a former Minnesota Twin he helped Minnesota bring home the World Series championship in 1987.    As an announcer his wit and his genuine likeability earned him a legion of new fans, many of whom had never seen him play.  To this day you can still see several “Circle Me Bert” signs at Twins home and away games (referring to his skill with the telustrator).

And now he can add Hall of Famer to his distinguished career.  Today the Baseball Hall of Fame announced that Bert Blyleven will be inducted as a member of the class of 2011.  This was a long time coming (he retired in 1992) but is worth the wait.

Congrats Bert!

    They finally circled Bert!

Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy, too.
