Tues. Blues.

So who says there aren’t many blues singers nowadays that have the talent that the singers of old had? Just recently I came across Ray LaMontagne. As if his voice and songwriting ability did not provide him with all the blues credentials he might need, apparently he quit his job in a shoe factory to pursue his music career. That’s a blues resume if ever I heard one. This song, “Repo Man” is rooted in blues, but has a funky early-70’s sound to it that had me fooled the first time I heard it (I thought it was from that era). Listen for yourself.

Groovy song. With his background, we could call him a “sole man”. ha
