Lady Madonna was recorded in February of 1968 during the short window between
the broadcast of Magical Mystery Tour and The Beatles three-month sabbatical in India. It’s an interesting track in that it is far removed from the psychedelia of Magical Mystery Tour, but isn’t quite as avant garde as The Beatles. Inspired by Paul’s fondness of Fats Domino this track features Paul delivering his vocal in a very Dominoesque style. All in all it is the type of thoroughly enjoyable pop record that Paul McCartney could seemingly write at will.
